Meet The Staff - Towning Dental

Towning Dental is a patient-focused practice providing comprehensive dental services with a focus on prevention, restorative treatments, periodontics, cosmetics, and orthodontics like Invisalign. Led by Dr. Towning, an Ohio State University graduate who completed advanced training at UCLA, the office strives to build personalized relationships and ensure excellent care. Services range from routine exams using digital x-rays and intraoral cameras to treatments like white fillings, crowns, veneers, whitening, scaling/root planing, and clear aligner therapy. Conveniently located near Lennox Center, OSU, and downtown Columbus, the modern ground-floor suite prioritizes patient comfort and well-being for those in the surrounding communities.

Dena Towning, DDS

Dr. Towning is a graduate of The Ohio State University. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 2006, and in 2011, she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. In addition, she completed an Advanced General Dentistry residency at UCLA.

Meet Our Associates

Chelsea

Chelsea was born and raised in Lima, OH. She attended The Ohio State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and her Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary certification in 2013 and decided to make Columbus her permanent home. She has been with Towning Dental since 2016. Chelsea enjoys providing her patients with a thorough and quality visit. She enjoys spending her free time reading, trying new restaurants with her partner Shannon, and spending time outdoors with their dog, Rory. Chelsea would love to clean your teeth and get to know you!

Mars

Mars grew up in Powell, OH and has always wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. She graduated from The Ohio State University with her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2019 and Master's Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2022. Mars has been with Towning Dental since 2021. She really enjoys getting to work with all her patients and loves getting to know everyone! Outside of work, Mars enjoys spending time with her husband, Jonny, and exploring all the breweries around Columbus. They also love being outside with their dog, Daisy, and try to bring her anywhere they can. Mars is also an avid read, runner, and traveler - she always has her Kindle with her, has recently been running many half marathons, and always has her next trip scheduled!

Valery

Valery was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in Columbus, OH. She is the daughter of two immigrant parents from El Salvador. She is currently attending Columbus State Community College with plans to graduate from their Dental Hygiene program. Besides work and school, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her dog, Maya. Valery assists Dr. Towning in getting patients ready for their restorative procedures.
